EVA Air Wi-Fi: Is It Free? Cost, Plans & How to Connect

Yes, EVA Air has Wi-Fi on international flights, and right now it doesn't cost anything. Until 31 October 2026, passengers in every cabin get free "Unlimited Web Browsing" for the whole flight, on international flights, in economy too. You don't need to be a member.

From 1 November 2026, free Wi-Fi is limited to business class passengers and Infinity MileageLands members. There's no paid plan listed on EVA's site, so an economy non-member won't get Wi-Fi.

The internet on board comes from Panasonic Avionics over satellite, on the Boeing 787, Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A330-300.

How to connect to EVA Air Wi-Fi

1. Wait until you're in the air. The service only works above 10,000 feet.

2. Turn on Airplane Mode, then switch Wi-Fi on again. Any laptop, tablet or phone with Wi-Fi will work.

3. Join the EVA Air inflight network from your Wi-Fi list.

4. Open your browser. The connection page should appear on its own. If it doesn't, try loading a simple website.

5. Follow the prompts to start your free plan. Have your booking details and MileageLands number ready in case you're asked.

Looking for evawifi.com or a Wi-Fi login page? The sign-in page belongs to the in-flight system, so you reach it from the plane's network rather than from a website you visit at home. How much does EVA Air Wi-Fi cost?

Nothing at the moment. Free plans are the only ones EVA lists, so if you've seen old prices for 30 MB, 100 MB or full-flight passes, those don't appear on the airline's current page.

How to get a faster connection

EVA suggests these settings to keep the connection steady:

• Turn on low data or power-saving mode.
• Switch off automatic media downloads.
• Pause app and software updates, cloud backups and background refresh.
• Skip games and large file transfers.

Speed is shared with everyone else on board, so it slows down when the cabin is busy. Weather and the plane's position also affect it.

Where you can't get a signal

Because the Wi-Fi comes from satellites, you can lose it in places without satellite coverage, such as over the polar regions. On flights across the Arctic, expect gaps. The service can also pause briefly for system maintenance.

EVA says free Wi-Fi comes with no quality guarantee, refund or compensation if the connection is slow or drops out.

Using your phone with roaming instead

On some 777-300ER aircraft you can also use SMS and data roaming through AeroMobile.

• Turn off Airplane Mode once the plane is above 20,000 feet.
• Your phone connects to the AeroMobile network automatically. Wait for a welcome text.
• It depends on your home mobile provider, and charges apply, so check rates first.
• It isn't available over the Arctic, Antarctica or the United States.
• Voice calls are not allowed. Put your phone on silent or vibrate.

If you don't want surprise charges, keep data roaming switched off.

Charging on EVA Air

• AC outlets (110V, up to 75W) are in Royal Laurel, Premium Laurel, Business and Premium Economy seats.
• Economy has AC outlets on the 787, 777-300ER and A330-300, except the last row of each zone on the 777-300ER.
• USB Type A ports are available on all three aircraft types.
• Power banks can't be used or charged during the flight, and must go in your carry-on.
